Photographic Magazine Cover – “Wave” Surf Magazine
This project presents a photographic cover design for the surf magazine Wave, focusing on Hawaii as the central theme.
The photographic concept places the image at the center of the design. The chosen photograph conveys a raw, authentic atmosphere. The surfboard acts as a clear visual anchor, instantly identifying the magazine’s subject. Strength, realism, and the force of nature are key aspects of the visual language.
A structured three-column grid within the DIN A4 format ensures clarity and balance, while allowing the image to dominate. Text elements are clearly hierarchized, with the title “Hawaii” leading, followed by secondary sections. A white frame enhances the image and adds a refined editorial feel.
Strong natural colors, high contrast, and a bold yellow accent create visual tension and attention.
Typography combines clear, readable serif fonts with a playful script accent, supporting both structure and the relaxed surf vibe. The overall style is modern, timeless, and powerful.
